In the cut ending to the shining, wasn't Stuart waiting in Wendy's hospital room ready to adopt Danny and take care of them?

He offers them the use of his beach house as they recover and it doesn’t sound to me from what I’ve read like he’s going to adopt Danny but if you want to ship them I’m not stopping you.
