Mabel Normand was a silent-era comedian with over 200 acting credits to her name. She starred alongside nearly all of the greats of her era and was deemed “The Keystone Girl”. Normand is believed to be the first person to throw a custard pie in someone’s face on film during “A Noise from the Deep (1913)”. She wrote, directed and produced her own films. She was a hugely popular star who died tragically in her 30s due to tuberculosis.
