Staufer & Hasler - Canton School, Wil 2004. Four concrete cores form the outer corners of the footprint, while a tree-like web of timber structural grids encase and connect the cores forming the base structure and leaving the central portion open to a courtyard. The directionality and repetition of the structure visually reinforces the logic of this system, and spacially define otherwise large open expanses. Scans via, photos © Heinrich Helfenstein.
