Paintings of Claire Wiltsher
Claire Wiltsher is an award winning landscape painter born 1962 in Newport, Wales, UK. She has a Masters degree in Fine Art, and has exhibited in solo shows throughout Britain as well as been a finalist in many competitions.
I seek my inspiration from walking and travelling. I am interested in creating a sense of place, so light and different types of weather form the ideas. I use oil and mixed media, integrating fragments of collage and print into the painting. I have been exhibiting widely for over 28 years from 1993 at the Ikon Gallery Birmingham, as one of five artists selected to tour for a year on the theme of Symbolism.
