Hi Anon,
Strangely enough, I’d like to design something with a lot of programming and people. That being said, I gravitate towards a shopping mall or an urban room/market. The shopping mall would be more interesting- have you ever noticed just how far you travel within the confines of a shopping mall? Have you ever noticed how marketing/advertising is embedded within the architecture and how it’s also stratified? Maybe it’s just my interest in shopping and sociology intersecting with architecture. ;D I would also like to design a horror story situation. Oftentimes, the location in horror/suspense movies plays a big part in the mood of the film.
As far as what my designs would “mean” to me, I’m not quite sure. For me, designing something with meaning is derived from uplifting others; I believe all architecture I undertake should be done with the intent to uplift the human condition. If I’m unable to do so through architecture, then I don’t want to pursue the project.
I hope this helps. It was an interesting question. I’ve never stopped to think of what I would make that wasn’t completely off-the-wall ridiculous.
