Sam Yong is an emerging self-taught artist and illustrator based in Melbourne. He works primarily with pencil, color pencil and recently has delved into oil painting. Yong’s recent works present the delicate balance of life and death in the natural world in an unfamiliar way. The intricately detailed graphite and color pencil illustrations depict both flora and fauna intertwining with one another; reflecting on the complex relationships between all living things in nature and how they affect each other.
