Peshkabz Dagger

  • Provenance: presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76 by Shivaji V Chhatrapati Narayana Rao, Raja of Kolhapur

The dagger has a pointed one edged steel blade with a broad straight back. The hilt is made of white jade and set with rubies, diamonds and emeralds in gold setting of floral design. The purple velvet covered wooden scabbard has a tip of white jade set with rubies, diamonds and emeralds.
