Cen Jun is a 29 year old New York-based artist from China.
Jun was inspired to create his surreal, pastel masterpieces by reading books that featured beautiful illustrations and comics.
“Making art is quite intimate. It doesn’t need to be intentional, but every shape, color and texture an artist creates can expressively reveal the artist’s mind. I try to be emotional even when I make commissioned work. I like how a successful illustration can change people’s reading behavior. Reading can be more active if the readers can use their imagination. That’s what an illustration can help. This is also the reason I chose to be an illustrator.”
