Standard

Jono Bernstein is a cinematographer with a decade of professional training and a lust for creativity. He gave six passionate years to Apple as their Events Coordinator, excelling in video production and composing customer-facing software training at retail stores worldwide.

Jono left in 2013 to start his own production company in New York City.

I was six years old when I took my first picture–it was during a vacation somewhere in the Caribbean. My mom had handed me a point and shoot 35mm camera and posed in-front of the ocean, no one else was around to capture the moment. My parents were surprised when they received the developed roll of film, I framed them center and didn’t chop off their heads.

Visual perception is everything to photography, so I try my best to bend reality with light, color, and movement–an everyday moment in time becomes a neo-realistic view of people and their surrounding worlds. I shoot with digital and analog media [not only one or the other] because I enjoy the variety of technique it takes to operate different equipment. Handling a camera in a particular way can change the resulting image drastically. Cost aside, using film gives me something tangible to experiment with, to physically manipulate.
